Mary C. Holmes STEM Camp
Robotics & Coding Stem Camp
Wings of Hope is proud to announce the Mary C. Holmes STEM Camp, sponsored by Mary C. Holmes STEM. The camp will focus on providing underserved and underrepresented kids the opportunity to learn computer science-related concepts at an early age. Young people ages 14-18 are eligible to apply and must submit an essay to be considered. Please see the flyer for the essay topic.
Participants will be selected by Mary C Holmes STEM. The camp will be held July 17-21 at Wings of Hope, 1204 13th Street in Portsmouth, OH, the home of Sabrania Holmes. Lunch is provided. Camp is one week long with kids learning how to assemble and program MakeBlock robots. Participants will also be treated to a field trip to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB, east of Dayton, OH in Greene County. Kids will gain skills in team building, communication, critical thinking, algorithms, and programming.
